Clovelly House School is registered as an Independent Special School rated “Good” by Ofsted in 2024. The pupils who attend our school have primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In addition to these, our pupils may also have mild to moderate learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADHD), Mental Health Difficulties and/or other complex needs.
The site near Thornton, consists of wooden eco-buildings offering fulltime education to up to ten mixed gender pupils from 10-19. In addition, the school has another site in Enderby, eight miles away, which is registered for a further ten 10-19 year old pupils.
Our school has a fair and transparent procedure for all admissions. In Clovelly House School, the School principal, Heads of School, Business Manager and Office are all responsible for the admission of pupils. Referrals of pupils are received by the school from Local Authorities, the Education Services, Social Services, Justice or Health Authority.
We welcome visits to our school from Local Authority advisors, Social Workers, Parents and prospective pupils prior to any formal referral being made, during the referral process and subsequent placement. Additionally, the Principal or Head of School may go out to visit professionals and the pupil at their previous placement. All visits are to be made by prior arrangement with the Principal or Head of School.
